Coaching Models

I use a range of coaching models and techniques tailored to meeting the needs of my clients.  These include:

  • GROW (Goal/Reality/Options/What)
  • OSKAR (Outcomes/Scale/Know-How/Affirm & Action/Review)
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution-Focused Coaching

My coaching approach is inspired by the Japanese concept of Ikigai—a philosophy that means “a reason for being.” I believe that Ikigai is found at the intersection of four essential elements of life:

  • What you love: The passions and interests that energise and excite you.
  • What you’re good at: The skills and strengths you’ve honed over time.
  • What the world needs: The needs and challenges your work can address.
  • What you can be paid for: How you can turn your skills and passions into a sustainable career.
Maxine and a female client walk down a country road in winter during a 1-1 coaching session, they are wearing woolly hats and there are no leaves on the trees.

Finding your Ikigai means achieving balance among these areas, leading to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. In our coaching sessions, I use the Ikigai framework as a practical tool to help you reflect on and realign your professional and personal goals.

Whether you’re feeling stuck in your current role, struggling with imposter syndrome, or seeking a new direction, the Ikigai model offers a powerful lens through which we can explore your challenges and opportunities. Together, we will identify where you are on your journey and create a path that honours your passions, leverages your strengths, serves the world and sustains you financially.

Client Testimonials

Maxine has an open and warm manner and is also a great listener. She really invests in those she is working with and helps you to generate your own ideas and solutions, whilst also having lots of information and experience at her finger tips that she shares readily. She is a natural coach.

Private Client 1

As a coach, you are receptive to all sorts of personalities and vulnerabilities.  I could bring anything to the session and feel safe

Private Client 2

[I am] looking forward to the goal and what life will look like once achieved. This has encouraged me to understand what I want to continue doing and what I don’t. [Max Purpose Coaching] helps you focus, evaluate what you want and what you need to do to achieve it.
